If I Outsource, Will I Lose My Clients?

From First Conversation to Ongoing Management

Here's What Working with Wealth Advisory Actually Looks Like.

No black-box handoffs. No surprises. Every step is advisor-driven.

Step 1 of 3

We Start with Your Client, Not a Model

The first conversation isn't a product pitch — it's a listening session. Your dedicated Wealth Advisory portfolio consultant works with you to understand each client's full picture: existing holdings, cost basis, tax situation, goals, risk tolerance, concentrated positions, and any constraints. Nothing gets proposed until we understand what we're working with.

What happens here

Introductory consultation with a single dedicated point of contact
Existing portfolio observation, review, and tax exposure analysis
Advisor-driven level of engagement — you set the pace and depth

Step 2 of 3

A Portfolio Built for This Client, Not the Next One

Based on discovery, the investment team builds a customized portfolio proposal — not a model applied broadly, but a strategy designed around this client's specific situation. You review it, ask questions, and approve it before anything is implemented. The advisor always stays in the room.

What happens here

Dynamic, multi-asset-class allocation tailored to the specific client
Tax-aware transition planning for legacy and concentrated holdings
Customized capital gains budgets, distribution strategies, and direct indexing where applicable

Step 3 of 3

Ongoing. Active. Backed by a Full Team.

Once the portfolio is live, Brinker's team monitors and manages it continuously — not quarterly, not at year-end. CFA®-credentialed portfolio managers handle day-to-day investment decisions, investment strategists provide market context, and a concierge wealth partner team is available for client-specific situations. Your job: be present for your clients. Brinker handles everything behind it.

What happens here

Proactive, continuous portfolio management and tax oversight year-round
Robust performance reporting delivered to you and your clients
Collaborative ongoing client reviews with your Wealth Advisory team
Beyond Investment Management

What You Can Now Offer That No Solo Practice Can Match

HNW clients don't just need a portfolio manager. They need a team around them. With Wealth Advisory, that team is yours to offer.

Private Banking Cash management, credit facilities, and liquidity solutions — so clients can move money efficiently without triggering unnecessary tax events.

Trust Services Estate planning and trust administration support for clients with multi-generational wealth goals, business succession needs, or complex family structures.

Business Valuations Independent private business valuation for clients planning a sale, entering a partnership, or needing an assessment for estate planning or gifting purposes.

Charitable Solutions Philanthropic planning and giving strategies for clients who want to build a lasting charitable legacy — including donor-advised funds and charitable remainder trust structures.

"One of the benefits that Wealth Advisory has brought to us is with some of the private banking services. They were able to set me up with a firm that's got a wonderful online portal — makes it really easy for moving money in and out, to provide liquidity without having to have a tax hit."

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens to my client relationship when I partner with Wealth Advisory?

It stays yours — completely. Wealth Advisory is a behind-the-scenes investment partner. Your name is on the relationship, your clients see you as their advisor, and you control how involved Brinker is in any client-facing interaction. Most advisors use their Wealth Advisory team invisibly; others choose to bring them into select client conversations. Either way, the client stays with you.

What types of clients are a good fit for Wealth Advisory?

Wealth Advisory is designed for high-net-worth clients with $500,000 or more in investable assets — particularly those with complex situations like concentrated positions, significant tax exposure, multi-generational wealth goals, or needs that go beyond standard portfolio management. If your client has complexity that demands a dedicated investment team, they're likely a fit.

What is the minimum account size?

The minimum investable asset threshold is $500,000. Accounts below that threshold are generally better served through Orion's other investment management solutions.

Can you customize the portfolio for each individual client?

Yes — that's the core of what Wealth Advisory does. Each portfolio is built around a specific client's situation: their existing holdings, cost basis, tax constraints, risk tolerance, and goals. No model is applied wholesale. Every proposal goes through a discovery process before anything is recommended or implemented.

How does Wealth Advisory handle taxes?

Tax awareness is built into every investment decision — not treated as an afterthought. The portfolio management team manages capital gains budgets, evaluates transition strategies for legacy holdings, and can implement direct indexing where applicable. Everything is designed to preserve as much after-tax wealth as possible.

How does onboarding work?

You'll be connected with a dedicated portfolio consultant who becomes your single point of contact. From there, the process follows the Discover, Design, Deliver model: a listening session to understand the client's full picture, a customized portfolio proposal for your review, and then implementation and ongoing management once you approve it. You set the pace.

How is Wealth Advisory different from a standard TAMP?

Most TAMPs apply models. Wealth Advisory builds portfolios. The difference matters for HNW clients who have concentrated positions, complex tax situations, or multi-asset-class needs that don't fit neatly into a sleeve structure. You also get a named point of contact — not a call center — and a CFA®-credentialed team managing each account continuously, not quarterly.

What services are available beyond investment management?

Wealth Advisory clients have access to private banking, trust services, business valuations, and charitable planning solutions through Brinker's network of institutional partners. These capabilities let you offer your HNW clients a genuinely full-service experience without building those capabilities in-house.

The HNW Market Is Growing.
The Advisors Capturing It Aren't Doing It Alone.

HNW investable assets in the U.S. are forecast to exceed $30 trillion by 2028.5 The advisors winning that market aren't building investment infrastructure from scratch — they're partnering with a team that's been doing it since 2005.

Tax-loss Harvesting is a process by which securities trading at unrealized losses are sold to realize a taxable loss. Proceeds from the sales are then used to reinvest in alternate securities to maintain market exposure. Tax-loss Harvesting can be used as a strategy to offset realized gains from other investments and/or carried forward to later calendar years to offset future taxable gains.
